Coatings

We provide powder painting and plating in cooperation.

POWDER PAINTING

Powder painting is a process of applying electrified paint particles onto cleaned metal elements. The product is sputtered by means of an electrostatic or electrokinetic spray, so that the powder stays on the surface of the item. Then the component is heated up to the temperature of 140-200 degrees. Under the influence of high temperatures the powder melts and polymerises, changing into a hard coating with excellent resistance to damage.

Powder painting increases resistance of products to external factors. It is a perfect way to protect them against corrosion, as well as mechanical, chemical, and thermal damage. It results in a uniform, homogenous protective layer with low susceptibility to chipping. The layer is free from stains and bumps and it is very presentable. Furthermore, it is also quite thick, hence it is perfect at covering any and all shortcomings caused during mechanical processing.

Powder painting is an environmentally friendly method. Powdered paints do not contain any solvents nor diluters, whose vapours could escape to the air. Furthermore, the process is carried out in closed ventilated systems, with no losses of the painting material (the untreated powder can be easily recovered and reused), which improves the efficiency and reduces the costs of delivery.

PLATING

Plating is a method of electrolytical application of thin metal coatings on metal elements. The protective layers are made of zinc, chrome, copper, cadmium, lead, silver, aluminium, gold, tin, and nickel. Depending on the material used, anode or cathode coatings can be obtained. Anode coatings are thinner than the cathode ones, as if damaged corrosion develops on their surface. But due to the fact that if the cathode coating gets damaged, the corrosion develops under the coating, cathode coatings are made much thicker, which is to minimise the risk of damage.

Plating is to improve thermal and electrical properties of the item. It is also used in order to protect the item against erosion and corrosion. Furthermore, it boosts abrasive and mechanical properties of the element, strengthens it, improves its appearance – it is used for decorating items.
